In the background, two young women sit upon the windowsill, dressed in light cotton dresses decorated with a floral motif and trimmed with white collars. From left to right, the figures are identified as Arlette J. RYAN(1892-1987), wife of John RYAN; her sister Yvonne Marguerite WARRAIN (1893-1992), wife of Léon Cyprien FABRE; and their elder sister Marguerite L. BASCHET (1890-1979), wife of René Louis BASCHET. To the right stand their parents, Alix Henriette BAILLEHANCHE-LAMOTTE (1866-) and Francis WARRAIN(1867-1940), advocat who served as Chevalier of Legion d'Honeur (Honour Legion).
