Description
Photograph of a model in an Annemarie HEISE workshop, with the finishing touches being put to her gown.

Annemarie HEISE, described here as the woman who defined German fashion, was a fashionable Berlin based designer in the 1930s and 40s, popular with female screen stars as much as the wives of the National Socialist leaders. In addition to film divas such as Zarah LEANDER and Marika ROKK, clients included Magda GOEBBELS and Eva BRAUN. BRAUN wore a HEISE design on the occasion of HITLER's 54th birthday in 1943 on the "Berghof" on the Obersalzberg near Berchtesgaden.
