Description
Full-length photograph of a young woman known as Sophie TROUBETSKOY (1836 - 1898), Russian princess, married to Charles de MORNY (count and further Duke), half-brother of Napoleon III. The noble lady is posing sitting in a chair at the table with a book, and looking on the side. She is wearing a crinoline mourning dress with a dark Chantilly lace matte silk shawl.
This photograph is typically a "carte de visite" format, format invented by André Adolphe Eugène DISDERI in 1854.
