Description
Paper photograph depicting a woman, known as Odile KERN, mannequin of Dior fashion house, wearing a look, named "Mystère", consisting of an evening dress in the trapeze line, in white organza under a black organdy veil. Under the chest, a black velvet ribbon decorated with a red rose gives an effect of raised waistline. The model is wearing an imposing pair of earrings with oval pendants.

Yves SAINT LAURENT for House of Christian Dior has adopted the Trapeze line for this Spring-Summer 1958 collection. The silhouette was balanced by a hat placed straight on the head and between the two bases of the trapeze. The two major points of the season were: "The shoulders", on which the head of the trapeze rests; "The suspended extent of the skirt", the second basis of the trapeze. This new construction of the silhouette results in a very definite shortening of the dress.
