Painted landscape representing the view from the terrace of the apartment above the Salle Pleyel where lived, early 1930s, the fashion designer Paul POIRET.After being the "king of fashion", Paul POIRET went bankrupt in 1927. Almost ruined, he lives on a state pension, because he never contributed. He occupies his time writing three books of memoirs and amateur painting.
