Description
This postcard depicts a row of fashionably dressed women.
They all share the commont point of wearing oversized hats and rather narrow skirts, called "hobble skirts" and introduced by French designer Paul POIRET in the 1910s. Their hats are usually adorned with ribbon, feathers or flowers; almost all of them are wearing fur muffs and/or stoles and high-collar shirts underneath their jackets and dresses.
