Description
This postcard features five women facing their backs to the viewer.
Starting from the left, the first one is wearing a purple coat and dress ensemble with a cream-coloured stole around her shoulers and a high, short-brimmed green hat; the second is wearing a brown coat with black cuffs and a black ribbon aroun the shoulders, as well as a light-yellow skirt and a blue hat adorned by a light blue striped ribbon and two parallel pink roses; the third is wearing a light blue shirt tucked into a darker blue skirt with two rows of three buttons along the back: under her shirt is a white high collar top and on her head is a cream-coloured wide-brimmed hat with pink flowers at the back; the fourth is wearing a pink dress with a darker-pink ribbon at the neckline and under which is a white high-collar top, and on her head is a large black hat with a single pink rose at the front; the fifth is wearing a green evening dress with a back V-neckline and long white gloves, as well as a blue stole and a large brown hat adorned by a cream-coloured feather.
The postcard's sender has written by hand "la GrĂªve des Midinettes", which roughly translates to "The yound ladies' strike".
