Description
This postcard depicts four women wearing the same outfit in differing colours. According to the title, they are models.

The drawing makes fun of the "hobble" skirts, introduced by Paul POIRET in the 1910s, with skirts being so narrow at the hem that they prevented women from walking normally, making them "hobble". They remained fashionable until the beginning of the First World War in 1914, when praticality became the main criteria for dresses.

The model's outfits are heavily influenced by the Arabic culture, made fashionable at the time by POIRET and Diaghilev's "Ballets Russes", whether it be in the turban-like hats or the baggy trousers they are wearing under their dresses. They are also wearing a white stole over their arms and square-neckline, knee-length dresses.
