Description
Painted portrait of a middle-aged man in a brown French coat with green lapels, which is not buttoned to the top, which allows a glimpse of a white shirt, all embellished with a brown and white striped tie. He wears a white cotton cap over his shaved head. He is seated on a chair with a circular back, the upholstery of which is red. This is a three-quarter portrait framed at half bust level. Although circular in shape, the painting depicts a rectangular painted frame.

This man is known as the Count of Murat of Besançon. He was, in his time, a member of the Parliament of Besançon.
