Description
Photograph of the fashion croquis drawing by Hélène MAJERA of Christian DIOR’s ‘Diablotine Dress’ from the fall/winter 1957-58 collection. The sketch depicts a mannequin modeling a knee-length black and red sleeveless dress with a plunging sweetheart neckline and full skirt. She is accessorized with red opera gloves, red fascinator, black stockings, and black pointed-toe high heels with a bow around the ankle. The fitted bodice is supported by darts along the princess seams and center front line. The gown is made of red opaque fabric layered with black tulle. Red embroidered dots fill the dress with magenta sequined embroidered swirls. The text on the back of this print suggests that the mannequin Victoire Doutreleau modeled the robe, however, according to our research, the gown was actually made for Svetlana LLOYD.
