Description
Paper photograph of a Parisian model of Maison Doeuillet, destined for a German and British magazines, with a printed on tracing paper explanatory text in German, French and English. The photograph shows a young woman dressed in a light grey woolen dress, richly decorated with tufts of chenille violets of light lilac shade, long lancet-like twisted foliage intersecting, and intermediate spaces are filled with fine Valenciennes point lace. The robe is rather closely fitting, its skirt passed with a small sable bordering: a bolero tight over the back and open in front has similar application of tufts and leaves. The sleeves have puffs of guipure lace quill below the elbows, and match the cut out jacket, set off with filigree gold buttons: collar and yoke with similar ornament. The look is completed with a large hat of black felt richly trimmed with wavy ostrich feathers.
