Adela Juana Maria PATTI, known as Adelina PATTI is an Italian opera singer (coloratura soprano). In 1859, at the age of 16, she made her debut at the New York Academy of Music in the title role with "Lucia di Lammermoor" by Gaetano DONIZETTI, then went to London, in 1861, where she triumphed at Covent Garden in the title role of Vincenzo BELLINI's "Sonnambula". In 1862, she made her debut in France, at the Théâtre-Italien in Paris, in the same role which immediately made her adopted by the French public. Very quickly, she was nicknamed "La Patti" as a Diva, and had a huge international career.
