Description
Boudoir large format portrait photograph representing Charles Frédéric WORTH, father of Haute Couture, dressed in a striped suit and wearing a artist's coat and beret in velvet.

Paul TOURNACHON, son of Gaspard-Félix TOURNACHON, known as Nadar, produced in 1892 a series of photographs of the famous couturier 3 years before his death. This photograph is one of the rarest seen from this photo session. Paul Nadar developed the scope of the studio's activities with milliners and Parisian haute couture houses such as Worth, Doucet and Révillon. Collaborations with the house of Worth will intensify in 1898 when the studio will photograph the new models of the season.
