Atelier Nadar (French, 1855 - 1939)

Photographic workshop founded by Félix TOURMANCHON, known as Nadar (1820-1910) in 1855. Gaspard-Félix TOURMANCHON was a French photographer, caricaturist, journalist, novelist, balloonist, and proponent of heavier-than-air flight. In 1858 he became the first person to take aerial photographs. In 1895, he gave his studio to his son Paul, who has been assisting him for several years.
