Jules LARDIN (probably Belgian or French, 1787 - c1870)
Jules LARDIN was born on March 18, 1787, probably in Belgium. Wealthy owner and music lover, he became known as the author of a biographical note on the composer François-André Danican PHILIDOR and several articles on the composer André GRETRY, whom he had frequented in his youth. Jules LARDIN will also be the impressario of Belgian cellist and composer Adrien-François SERVAIS. He will also be an ardent defender of the cause of Parisian theaters by sending several petitions to the Legislative Chambers, between 1844 and 1847. He seems to have died around 1870.
