Maison Garnesson (French, 19th century)

Maison Garnesson or House of Garnesson, was founded by Nicolas-Jacques GARNESSON (ca 1768 - 1824), merchant of necessaires, boxes and wallets, installed at n°155-156 of the galleries of the Palais Royal in Paris. He collaborated with the main suppliers of the Imperial Court, then those of the Bourbon court. On his death in 1824, his son Hippolyte (1795 - 1873) took over the family business. He was a clerk then associated with his brother-in-law Bon Achille CHOMPRET October 4 1827. The house worked with goldsmiths, perfumers and cabinetmakers under the French Empire and then under the Restoration.
