Boris PASTOUKHOFF (French (born Russian), Kiev 1894 – 1974 London)

Boris PASTOUKHOFF is a French painter, born Russian in Kiev in 1894 and died in London in 1974. Student in Kiev of Alexander MURASHKO, he emigrated after Russian revolution in 1917 to Serbia then to Yugoslavia, then moved to Paris in 1930. He was exhibited in 1937 at the Charpentier Gallery in Paris. On August 12, 1952 and June 24, 1955, he received two orders from the French state. He was married to Lydia OULSKY then lived with Julia WORSWICK, his student born Julia Pavlovna DRAGUNOVA (1903, Sebastopol - 1976 London). Some of his works are visible at the Lancaster Hotel in Paris, where he stayed for ten years; penniless, he paid for his room by displaying his paintings. In 1947, he produced a portrait of Danielle DARRIEUX. It was auctioned for 30,000 euros in 2009.
