Description
Cane pommel covered with silver-plated metal sheet, chiseled with Janusian cherub heads, inspired by the revival interest in Versailles, with their hair hiden under a bonnet, each with different side decoration.

At the end of the 19th century, the Palace of Versailles made a spectacular comeback to center stage. At the same time as it once again becomes a national symbol and the scene of political events, nostalgia for its former splendor inspires literature, the arts and fashion. The splendor of Versailles, the poetry of its gardens, the ghosts of the "Roi Soleil" and Marie-Antoinette are among the dreams of the Belle Époque and then of the Roaring Twenties. It is also the moment when the palace begins the vast project of its restoration and refurnishing, triggering passionate debates.
