Description
Romantic period dandy pants in cream cotton satin, high waisted and pleated on front with side slit pockets. Buttoned front opening, covered by a small bridge with similar buttons. Bone buttons at the waistband for the suspenders.

Cossack trousers were introduced in Europe in 1814 when Tsar Alexandre I travelled from Russia for the peace celebrations that followed Napoleon Bonaparte's abdication. The Cossack soldiers in the entourage of the Tsar wore a similar style of trousers, which soon became fashionable in Europe.
