Description
Sleeveless black silk chiffon, deep-V-necked, embroidered with silver beads and transparent sequins with a black tulle underslip. This dress was made by the Parisian house Kitmir (collaborating with Gabrielle CHANEL). It was originally adorned with a black silk chiffon belt, which has since disappeared.

A version of this dress was worn by actress Ina CLAIRE and photographed in 1926 by Edward STEICHEN for American Vogue. Today, one version of this dress is housed at the Derby Museum in London and another in the collection of New Yorker Hamish BOWLES.
