Description
Small box in oven blue porcelain, called "bleu de four", in the shape of a women's purse with a tiny chain, mounted in gilded metal with handpainted golden roses. This box belonged to Alla PUGACHEVA, а Soviet and Russian musical performer.

"Bleu de four" is a particular technique of Limoges craftsmen. It is a color obtained mainly from cobalt. This blue is used in particular for the decoration of fine porcelain, earthenware or even stoneware. This color is very present in Limoges porcelain either raw or enhanced with fine gold or more rarely platinum. With tastes, colors and trends evolving, "oven blue" has become almost a generic term and qualifies small decorative objects: miniatures, small boxes, candy boxes, tableware or decorative dishes.
