Description
Postcard depicting Mizzi Zwerenz (1876-1947) an Austrian operetta singer (soprano) and theatre and film actress. She is dressed in traditional Tyrolean costume.

She came from a family of actors going back to her great grandfather, while her father Karl Ludwig Zwerenz was an actor and director. She followed the family tradition and made her debut in Baden near Vienna, then toured Austria, Germany and Russia, working between 1901 and 1920 in the Carl Theater in Vienna as a leading singer. In the early 1920s, she ran the establishment Mizzi Zwerenz in Baden. for which she engaged popular artists. In addition to her stage work, she appeared in several films, including 'The Little Veronica' (1929) and 'Waltz around the Stephan Tower' (1935).
