Description
Advertising fan for department store "Au Bon Marché". In a fontange shape (shell shape), very particular for publicity fans, with on the one side an engraving representing two women with childs from two different eras: a lady in crinoline dress from 1850s with a son holding a hoop; and an elegant woman wearing a 1930s outfit with a girl with a jumping rope.
The fan was probably edited for the commemoration of the eighty years, of the associate in 1852, between the brothers Paul and Justin Videau (founder of the first store in 1838) with Aristide and Marguerite Boucicaut.
