Description
Black and gold art deco purse is a classic example of functional object turned art piece. The compact opens with a golden clasp at the top into two compartments. One side reveals a mirror, which when folded down also functions as an additional storage slot. The vanity side has separate compartments for lipstick (with lipstick tube), as well as rouge and powder. The front of the purse is decorated with a classical motif. A metal medallion features a Greek soldier, whose beard is reminiscent of the Greek god Zeus. Around the perimeter of his portrait is a repetitive geometric design. Attached to the base of the handle are two velvet tassels and add an ornamental flair to an overall simple design.
