From the wardrobe of an actress Merle OBERON (1911–1979).

Indian-born British actress Merle OBERON, wife of the Mexican (Italian born) industrialist Bruno Pagliai, have been recognized as Best Dressed Women at The International Best Dressed Hall of Fame List in 1958, 1959 and 1960. She owned and wore this Irene GALITZINE designed evening gown at the Ballo Romantico held in the St Regis Hotel, New York, in December 1965.

That year Princess Irene GALITZINE won the British Sunday Times International Fashion Award and was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame. Since then, her creations have been worn by some of the most famous women in the world. Merle OBERON was among her celebrity clients.
