Description
Chatelaine in the style of a Russian niello silver with a compartment for suspended watche and also charms wich express the personnality and the tastes of the owner. This chatelaine is decorated with floral romantic silver motifs.
Niello is a black mixture, usually as an inlay on engraved lines in the metal, especially silver. The technic is controlled by Russians and regains importance in France in the nineteenth century, with damascene workers like André Colomb (1786-1838).
