Description
Muslin ball gown with lace, velvet and beads. The dress is decorated with embroidery on a sirloin mesh (not referred to as lace). First, a mesh is woven, and then various seams are made along it. In this case, the main pattern (vine) is darned, the rectangular cross-shaped figure is filled with a star stitch. The four-petal flower under the pink fabric of the dress is made with a linen seam and trimmed with voluminous satin stitch. Machine tulle, sewn to the fillet embroidery, creates a contrast with the fillet cells, which creates a "lacy" effect of the background. The embroidery is done in silk.

From the ex-wardrobe of the Baroness de CAIX DE CHAULIEU.
