Press photography of Countess May BERNSTORFF, brazilian artist, a cousin of Count von BERNSTORFF of the German Embassy. Her home was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and she had come to London to give an exhibition of her paintings. The Countess had been responsable for some notable portrait busts and fountains in addition to paintings. On this picture, the fashionable Countess is wearing mannish attire and she always worked in her studio wearing wide trousers of red serge.Material
