Description
Blue taffeta visit dress. Indigo aniline dye.

The origins of aniline are closely related to indigo. Isolated in 1826 by Otto Unverdorben, during the latter's distillation, it was first called crystalline. In 1841 Carl J. Fritzsche, treating indigo with potash, obtained an oily substance, which he named aniline. But it was not until 1856 that aniline ushered in the era of chemical dyes.
