Description
Greige silk taffeta dress of colour calle "Paris dust" consisting of a bodice and a skirt. Bodice is decorated with 8 macrame trimmed buttons and white lace collar. Bodice and skirt are adorned by ruffles.
The transformations of Paris under the Second Empire orchestrated by the famous Baron Haussmann, leads to the great attendance of the French capital by tourists who use omnibuses and other carriages. All this croud raises a dust that will become legendary on the point to leave its name to a colour. Later, the scandalous writer of the Belle Epoque, Jean LORRAIN, will dedicate a novel to it: "Poussière de Paris" published in 1899.
