Description
A burnt orange textured silk taffeta in thin brown stripes Couture midi dress, adorned with ruffles, with a cinched gathered skirt and a wide separate sash; a bodice with a deep V-neck, that is decorated with a frill, closed with two iridescent brown plastic buttons, and has the same ones on the cuffs of the elbow-length lantern sleeves with padded shoulders; a cummerbund-like sash with a draped midriff is tapered to the ends and rear fastened.
The ruffled collar and gigot-like sleeves, that shares distinct visual characteristics with 1826-1828 French fashion, it is a hallmark of Lapidus’s Romantic Revival style from the late 1970s.
