Description
Summer suit in lilac silk chiffon with white polka dots, composing of a dress and a bolero. The sleeveless dress features a round neckline and a fitted waist, adorned with a martingale held in place at the front by a lilac metal ring. It is lined in the same color polyester crepe. The matching bolero is shaped like a wide tube with a central cutout, forming long sleeves. The back can be gathered as desired using two drawstrings. The ensemble also includes a round, homemade element in the same fabric, which can be used as a hair accessory, for example.
The dress comes from the personal wardrobe of Princess Ghislaine de Polignac (1918-2011). She was a prominent member of Paris society, fashion stylist and promoter, and author. Princess de Polignac was one of the first French women to head a style bureau in the 1950s.
