Nile blue silk taffeta crinoline four-piece ensemble with ball and day bodices. A spencer jacket with U-neck trimmed with a taffeta ruffles and blue silk ric-rac braid and infilled with ivory cotton cambric with pintucks, lace faggotings and tone-on-tone embroidery; the foreparts are edged with Chantilly lace and fastened in the center front with four blue soutache covered buttons, long tapered sleeves are trimmed with two rows of taffeta ruffles and lace cuffs. A ball corset boned bodice has a wide scoop neckline, a pointed hem, a rear lacing and short puff sleeves formed by box folds. Both bodices are lined with yellowed calico; a taffeta belt with a large bow and scalloped tails, that covers the crinoline skirt at the back, fastens with two hooks and eyes.Materials
