Description
White knitted cotton longsleeved men’s pullover with navy blue and mint green argyle pattern.
The argyle pattern is derived from the tartan of Campbell clan of Argyll in Western Scotland, where it was used for kilts and plaids, and from the patterned socks worn by Scottish highlanders since 17th century (known as "check shorts"). It became fashionable in Great Britain and then in the United States after WWI. "Pringle of Scotland" says that the iconic Pringle argyle design was developed in 1920s. They popularised this pattern by associating it with the Duke of Windsor. The Duke, among others, used jerseys and long socks of this design for golf wear. In modern golf, this pattern still remains in fashion. However, modern argyle patterns are not usually true tartans, as they feature two solid colors next to each other, which is not possible in authentic tartan weaving.
Accompanied by white-blue cotton plaid shirt “AÇAY”; dark blue summer jeans with metal buttons “BritishIndia jeanswear” and rectangular sunglasses in black and green plastic frame.
