Photograph of Princess Natalie PALEY waving, seated on the railing of the steamship SS Europa arriving to New York enroute to Hollywood from France. Her ensemble is composed of a long dark coat with a corsage, a light belted vest with a matching necktie, a long dark skirt, woven leather pumps, and a calot hat.

Natalie PALEY (1905-1981) was a Russian princess, the granddaughter of Tsar Alexander II. She fled the Russian Revolution and went on to establish herself as a model in Paris throughout the 1930s, for Schiaparelli, Chanel, and Vogue. She would later appear in French and American films.
