Description
Pink Japanese Kimono constructed of silk jimon featuring repeat motifs of ribbons and bouquets. Base of the kimono features a hand painted floral yuzen design of chrysanthemum, cherry blossoms, ōgi fans, and peonies done in white, orange, and pink. Upper inner lining constructed of red silk, lower inner lining of pink silk. Hand stitched construction throughout garment.

Jimon is a woven-in background pattern found in Japanese fabric, typically subtle and often tone-on-tone,  similar to demask. Yuzen is a Japanese textile art that combines resist dyeing and handpainting, often with gold accents. Ōgi fans or Sensu are Japanese folding fans used by the nobility and monks since the Heian period, 8th century, and as a motif represent elegance and prosperity.
