Photograph representing a painter's portrait of Grand Duchess Elena of Russia (1882-1957), wife of Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark, represented in full length, dressed in a ball gown, wearing a tiara matched with a pair of earrings and a pearl necklace ending with an Orthodox cross. She is holding a fan in her hand. The portrait is known to be the work of the painter Philip de László made in 1914.The photograph dating early 20's is autographed by the hand of the princess for the dancer and ballet master Boris KNIAZEFF (1900-1975). At the bottom of the photograph it is written in Russian “To Boris A. KNIAZEFF in memory of the Ritz on July 11, 1929 and an evening in Paris on April 4, 1932."
