Description
Loose Romantic period fashion knee trousers made of silk and cotton (casimir fabric), with a polka-dotted pattern. They are lined with linen and cotton, and a tie at the back allows to adjust them. Eleven brass buttons are sewn on the fly and the belt, all showing the English inscription "NE PLUS ULTRA". Fabric buttons and velvet ribbon are decorating the feet of the breeches.

The men's fashion of the Romantic period is marked by the use of the corset to accentuate the tight waistline, and trousers very wide and loose on the hips, becoming more tight on the knee level, to exaggerate even more the difference of volumes.
