Description
Small square box made of brass, decorated on its lid with a bird on a branch looking at a fly. All the sides are decorated either with a vegetal medallion or with a fan.

Kobako boxes were small boxes produced in Japan during the Meiji era (1868 - 1912) for jewels, onguents or medication. They made part of products sold to Europeans during the Expositions Universelles.
