Sleeveless chest-colored men's suit vesr decorated with embroidered plant and floral motifs. The collar, along the closing buttons, the pockets and the peak of the vest, are particularly covered with these motifs. The waistcoat was fastened with six buttons and tightened at the waist with one or more strings on the back, which have now disappeared.This mid-19th-century silk waistcoat was actually cut from an earlier 18th-century vest.
