Description
Watercolour fashion plate n° 2785 from the Journal des Dames et des Modes, represents women's parisian costume according to fashion trends in 1830.
Engraving depicts two women in fashionable gowns. The woman facing the spectator is wearing a voluminous white dress with a large hat embellished with pink feathers and white bows. Her dress has flowers and leaves details around the v-neckline and all the way down the center. There is gold detailing on both her wrists and on the middle of her waist. She is wearing pointy white strappy shoes and is holding a tissue in her left hand. The hat and the ribbons comes from the shop of de Mme Beauvais Rue Ste Anne, no. 77. The second woman is wearing a voluminous blue dress similar to the first woman and is facing the other way. She also has a hat embellished with white feathers and blue bows and is wearing the same shoes except hers are in the colour blue.
