Description
Four Russian style kokoshniks, created for ballet dancing students of the Alexandrino ballet school in Nice, established by Julie SEDOVA (Saint Petersburg 1880 - 1969 Cannes), a Russian dancer, choreographer and dance teacher.
The biggest kokoshnik is made of pink silk on cardboard base decorated on the crown with a row of grey pearl beads; ivory, pink and grey beads forming scrolled ornaments on the front, embellished with four round blue gems, three hexagonal red gems, two round green gems and five large faceted rhinestones.
The next kokoshnik is made of golden brocade with white cotton lining, is decorated with metallic thread cord on the top and bottom and two horizontal rows of small rhinestones on the top. Another two rows are forming triangles on the sides with large red, yellow, silver and green round gems around. A fire shaped glass beaded embroidery in the center with small orange gems and a round metal circle inserted with tiny rhinestones, surrounded with red round and hexagonal gems, two blue gems and four mother of pearl oval leaves.
The other kokoshnik is also made of golden brocade with red cotton lining, decorated on the front with red zigzag cords, forming geometric patterns. It has a metal decoration in the center in the shape of a crown decorated with rhinestones. It is also embellished with multicolour gems in different shapes, two mother of pearl leaves, and four round mirror circles.
The last kokoshnik is also made of golden brocade with red cotton lining, decorated on the front with pink zigzag cords, forming geometric patterns. It has a round medallion metal decoration in the center with tiny rhinestones. It is also embellished with multicolour gems in different shapes, and four round mirror circles.
