Description
Paper photograph of a film still from the movie "The Painted Veil" depicts Greta GARBO (Katrin Koerber Fane) with a tea kettle in hand standing over Herbert MARSHALL (Walter Fane). The costume designer Adrian Adolph GREENBERG styled Garbo in an oversized wrap house coat tied in a bow at the waist. Her hair is cut to her chin with neatly combed curls. MARSHALL is relaxed with his light dress shirt unbuttoned at the collar and cuffs. His hair is parted at the side and combed back.

The film, directed by Richard BOLESLAWSKI, is about a woman who accompanies her new husband to China while he conducts medical research. Feeling neglected by her husband, the woman soon falls in love with a handsome diplomatic attaché.
