Portrait of actress and playwriter Olga PETROVA (Muriel Harding) attending a horse race. She is pictured on a lawn facing the camera with one wrist bent on her hip and the other hand cradling a dark clutch purse. Her hands are covered by light-hued gloves which end mid-forearm and feature rushing around the wrist. She is wearing a blond turban hat, a fur coat is covering her shoulders and falls just below her hips, a palecolored formal afternoon dress with a double-layered skirt ends just below her knee and scoop neck. The top layer has geometric patterned detailing across the chest which reaches her mid-thigh when the pattern changes to two-toned stripes. A belt made of many strands of beads wraps around her waist with the excess reaching her ankles. Three large dark pendants secure the belt at her belly and two pendants rest on the tail of the belt above and below her knees. Petrova is wearing pale high heels with a single strap across the vamp and two straps extended from the center of the toeline to meet the horizontal strap in a triangular shape. Beside her on her left is a wooden chair. The background is filled with rows of these chairs each row increasing in level up to a building with many windows and doorways.Material
