Description
Black and white paper photograph representing a French fashion designer Emanuel UNGARO, presenting his "Golden Thimble" on the background of Paris view with the Eiffel Tower. He was awarded with the eighth "Golden thimble" of French haute-couture at the end of the week of presentation of the spring-summer 1980 haute-couture collections by the great Parisian couturiers, becoming the best couturier of the year 1980. 

The "Dé d'or de la haute couture", commonly known as the "Dé d'or" (Golden thimble), is a prize awarded twice a year, in France, to haute couture designers and which takes place from 1976 to 1990. The "Golden thimble" stops in 1990 to resume punctually in 1993 under the name of “European Golden Thimble of Fashion” and definitively disappears the following year.
