Description
Paper photograph depicting three Parisian Haute Couture models celebrating St Catherine's Day and French singer Marcel AMONT (born in 1929). The three ladies are wearing traditional Catherinettes hats, the theme of which was provided by Marcel AMONT, to illustrate three of his songs with their caps. From left to right: "Aie mon coeur" (Have my heart), "Betty La Parade" and "Cha-Cha".

"Coiffe Catherinette" , was worn by unmarried women, 25 or older, on St Catherine's day. On the day of the Feast of St Catherine, unmarried women would celebrate by wearing green and yellow decorated hats. On that day, they would pray and people would wish for them to find a husband.
