Description
Paper photographs depicting three young women called "Catherinettes" because of their festive hats. From left to right, the first hat represents a kind of large visor on which is an interplanetary rocket followed by the inscription XXV (25), in the middle the young girl wears a kind of sailor's cap on which is placed a representation of the Brussels Atomium. On the right, the hat is named "Destination Lune" (Moon Destination), it consists of a small cap on which is placed a spere representing the Earth and 5 arches rise, one of them is decorated with a moon.

"Catherinette" hat was worn by unmarried women, 25 or older, on St Catherine's day. On the day of the Feast of St Catherine, unmarried women would celebrate by wearing green and yellow decorated hats. On that day, they would pray and people would wish for them to find a husband.
