Traditional Russian Sbornik hat, lined with handprinted cotton with a vegetal pattern of tree branches and blue leaves, embellished with golden thread embroideries, and red and blue stones, pearls, opal glass beads and rhinestones. The bottom line of the back and front is made of red silk brocade."Sbornik" was a whole group of folk kokoshnik style headdresses. The word means the way of making the hat – assembling the material into folds on the top like a comb. This comb look creates a unique style and had a magic meaning to protect the person and to produce the next generation.
