Description
Paper photograph depicting a young woman, a famous American actress, playwright, and vaudeville performer, the leading woman at the Fifth Avenue Theatre, New York, Edna May SPOONER, sometimes spelled as Edna Mae SPOONER (1873 – 1953). She is represented in an evening dress, covered with semi transparent chiffon or tulle decorated all over with small circles. The sleeves of the gown are long, but the shoulders are open with thin straps. The lady is wearing a lace shawl on her shoulders, a large diamond choker necklace with a round pendant, set with stones, and an imposing hat decorated with ostrich feathers.
