Paper photograph depicting a young woman, a famous British and American stage and silent film actress, Kitty GORDON (1878 – 1974). The lady is wearing a distinctive dinner gown of black chiffon over white satin. The decollete is embellished with a shiny flower shaped brooch, and a long diamond necklace with a round pendant. The unusual feature being the long heavy silk tassel hanging from the sleeves. She is also wearing a hat of blue velvet with bird of paradise feathers. She is represented in an interior with American flags on the background, and leaning on a piano.Materials
